| -June 8, 1967 Israel Attacks the USS Liberty 34 sailors killed and 174 sailors wounded
J-une 10, 1967 US Naval Court of Inquiry convenes 48 hours after the attack. Only 15 crewmen were called to testify of a crew of 294 men
-June 18, 1967 after only 4 total days of testimony and only 2 of the 4 days involving the ship personnel, the Court under orders predetermines and exonerates Israel in the matter. Not one Israeli/IDF person spoke nor a single shred of an IDF document supporting Israel's claims entered in support.
-Over 60 USS Liberty crew offered testimony and/or written affidavits, none were allowed. 242 Liberty crewmen were never offered the chance or were denied to offer their testimony or thoughts into the official records who are now in their 60's, 70's and 80's still shunned, abandoned and ignored after 40 years.
-There has never been a Congressional hearing/investigation of the attack ever. Yet it must be an "accident" says the US government and the State of Israel who after 13 years signed diplomatic papers making it so after an additional 6 million dollar payment.. Israel never paid the actual damages.
-Yet the official original US Government statement by Dean Rusk has never been retracted. It dropped the word "wanton" disregard of human life. US naval radio frequencies were jammed and accepted by the Court of Inquiry yet Israel claims it though the ship was a 1920's built rusted Egyptian horse carrier still in port in Egypt the last 12 weeks, was 1/2 half the size of the Liberty showing Arabic letters. The very large hull numbers were "freshly painted" said the Court and the ship's name visible on a clear day. Their inability to not see them being unique in the world's Navy at that time has never been explained nor even asked.
-The ship's weather logs were not admitted yet the Court ruled that the winds may have been too low to loft the flad yet the ship was in recorded 5+ mph winds and underway when attacked. The IDF to this day still states that there was no US flag flying despite six USS Liberty crewmen claiming otherwise. The statement "Records not available at this time" is littered throughout the Court of Inquiry transcripts. The word word "Israel" and its involvement are not even mentioned in the first 20+ pages. The lead Counsel for the Court, Capt Ward Boston, USN stated that the trial was "predetermined" and testimony from his submitted report tampered and removed and the JAG authority Starling in London refused to sign off on the Courts Finding of Facts in 1967. Ignore thomas Moorer, Dean Rusk, the Liberty crew and US government dignitaries yet think them all wrong.
-Three remains that were unidentifiable were buried together at Arlington with no mention of their ship and questionable mention for 16 years: listed as "Killed in the Easter Mediterranean" though this later changed after excessive protests. Read the consequences of Grafton, Wisconsin naming their public library "The USS Liberty Memorial Public Library". Why was Cmdr. Matthew McConnagle the only servicemen to not be awarded the Medal of Honor since WW2 at the White House? Why are records and files still classified when the USS Pueblo in 1968 rendered the ship's technology obsolete?
Never has there been such an expedited, abbreviated, and truncated Naval Court of Inquiry as the Liberty's.

| On Monday 12 December 2005 WING TV broadcast an interview with Rear Admiral Merlin Staring, a former Judge-Advocate-General of the US Navy, as part of their series "Israel's Deliberate Attack on the U.S.S. Liberty".
Reporter Lisa Guliani: Earlier this year a member of the House of Representatives, Rob Simmonds, made an inquiry to the Department of the Navy and he got a response in March from the Navy that said that the only invesigation into the USS Liberty Attack was conducted by the Navy Court of Inquiry and that runs contrary to a lot of reports we've heard over the years that there have been numerous inquiries. This is significant for the Liberty crew isn't it?
Adml Merlin Staring: It is most significant because there have been many statements by others of various stripes concerning the number of times that this has been investigated. It's all old hat and so on but it has never, none of those investigations that they purported to cite really were US government investigations. Many of them were not investigations at all. And we were very pleased to, finally to have the Department of the Navy responding to the Congress and saying the only US government investigation of the Liberty Attack was the US Navy Court of Inquiry in 1967.
There you have it. From the lips of a Rear Admiral and a Judge Advocate General in the US Navy. This means that none of the so-called 'investigations', cited ad nauseum on the Liberty threads, with the exception of the NCOI, qualify as a real investigation. There has only been one US government investigation into the Liberty attack, and that was the US Navy Court of Inquiry of 1967.

| Central Intelligence Agency Reports 1967
The Central Intelligence Agency completed an Intelligence Memorandum titled The Attack on the USS Liberty on 13 Jun 1967. It was declassified with redactions on 31 Aug. 1977. It was fully declassified on January 12, 2004 in Foreign Relations of The United States, Vol. XIX, document number 284, page 469. On page 4, in paragraph 5, the report concludes that the Liberty could easily be mistaken for the Egyptian transport El Quesir.
The Intelligence Memorandum reflects the time the attack began at 3:05 PM (Sinai time) 8:05 AM (Washington time). The preparer apparently was not aware that while Washington was on daylight savings time, the Sinai was not. There is usually a seven hour difference between Washington and Sinai time but on 8 Jun 1967, there was only a six hour difference. This author has pointed out this discrepancy to the CIA but they have not taken corrective action. The Washington times in the Memorandum are correct but the Sinai times are all one hour late.
A CIA Intelligence Memorandum dated 21 Jun 1967 remained classified until declassified in full on January 12, 1004 in Foreign Relations of The United States, Vol. XIX, where it appears as document number 317on page 537.
Both the fully declassified Memorandum of 13 June 1967 and the fully declassified Memorandum of 21 June 1967 are reproduced below. Footnote 1 of the 13 June 1967 Memorandum indicates the 13 June 1967 CIA Intelligence Memorandum was sent to LBJ by W.W. Rostow on 13 June 1967 at 12:45 PM.

| National Security Agency Report (1981)
The 1981 report has been partially declassified several times. Although still heavily redacted, the report was significantly further declassified on 2 July 2003 and posted on the National Security Agency website on 8 July 2003. The NSA has also released audio recordings of Israeli radio traffic made by an NSA EC-121 aircraft flying over the USS Liberty on 8 June 1967, translations of these recordings, and other documents. These files are available here and on the NSA website.

The goal is the complete and whole truth in an open honest investigation. Not spoonfed selected truths by a government accused of being involved in the cover-up.
