Dr. Marvin Nowicki was the US Navy supervisor on the EC-121 aircraft who heard the actual Israel Air Force radio transmissions, in Hebrew, on 8 June 1967 and thereafter listened to the tapes in Hebrew (Nowicki was an NSA/Navy trained Hebrew linguist). Nowicki sent an e-mail to James Bamford with five enclosures on 20 March 2000.
Bamford claims the Nowicki letter told him that the tapes establish that the Israelis knew they were attacking a US ship. Read the Nowicki e-mail and decide if you agree with Bamford's interpretation. Dr. Nowicki did not agree with Bamford's interpretation. He wrote a letter to the Wall Street Journal in which he explicitly stated the tapes proved the attack was made in error.

Yes. Friendly fire incidents have been known to happen on clear days.
The Israelis believed it was an Egyptian ship, and they were at war with Egypt.

| The never seen or heard mysterious Marvin Nowicki never seen or heard or substantiated from since except a single NYT letter who list fellow "unnamed" linguists who have never spoke out or substantiated his version either. Never mind that the Naval Court of Inquiry DID DETERMINE that US Navy frequencies were being jammed. It is in the official findings of fact.
Egypt did not use such frequencies.
Just further proof that the USS Liberty crew is justified in finding the answers in an open and honest forum for these 40 year old discrepancies.
Only Israeli-AIPAC apologists who deny this.

If one actually reads the thranscripts of the crew's testimony, one finds that the crew belied that they were being jammed. There was absolutely no evidence provided to support that assumption.

If one actually reads the thranscripts of the crew's testimony, one finds that the crew testified that all frequencies were experiencing interference.
But then, unlike me, you have never made the clear statement that the crew did not lie under oath. | |

The crew also testified under oath that what they were interpreting as 'jamming' only occurred during straffing runs.
Either you never bothered to actually read the crew testimony, or you are simply a liar. | |

The US Navy Court of Inquiry Findings of Facts states in conclusion:
"LIBERTY apparently experienced a phenomenon identified as electronic jamming of her voice radio just prior to and during air attacks."

And you entirely ignored all testimony about and all documentation related to Liberty radio transmissions.
