| YOUR opinion of an individual does not make it so. Neither does MINE. I don't strongly disagree with much of what the man opines. Though I know some women have an issue with it and I know plenty who agree strongly. :shrugs: I think he's on to something. Humanism. I've heard many speak of "Humanism" and apparently there are different levels of understanding. Worshipping MAN in his present state is one definition I distantly recall. I guess having no belief in a Creator (everything is created...) makes no sense to me. As an engineer I see Order in everything. There is no Chaos. So says Chaos Theory. There are ever-increasing levels of Order. There is no real "Randomness" either. A great book you may thoroughly enjoy (but it may not change your perspective - though that's not the point; my examples made me think of this) is THE HOLOGRAPHIC UNIVERSE by Michael Talbot. | | | | Von Curtis | | Posted: Wed Jun 10, 2009 3:00 am Post subject: AMAZING THING CALLED LIFE |
| | It would be a fascinating wonderful thing if we actually knew what we are all in this thing called 'life' for - I guess I won't figure it out before I die. People do under-estimate how powerful the life force in NATURE is from the tinest seed and smaller to the sun and beyond . Maybe we are important , maybe we are not , but always remember it is a gift and a truly amazing thing to be on this earth. | | | | Diceros | | Posted: Wed Jun 10, 2009 7:37 pm Post subject: |

A Sadu , in India , once told me, (in broken English) - We're born - We live + then we die " Cheers. | | | | Diceros | | Posted: Wed Jun 10, 2009 7:45 pm Post subject: |

| White Gold…British Slaves… http://centurean2.wordpress.com/2009/06/10/white-gold-british-slaves/ What is even more striking was the response of the British crown. For almost two centuries, it made only the most ineffectual attempts to rescue its enslaved subjects. Those who had succumbed to the torture and inhumanity of the Sultan and converted to Islam were deemed to be no longer British and therefore outside the scope of any rescue. Popular outrage forced successive Kings to dispatch a series of feeble emissaries to try to get the Sultan to end this vile traffic and release the slaves, all to no avail. But this went on for virtually two centuries. For almost 200 years the British state either sat on its hands or wrung them impotently while the Islamic jihad seized, enslaved and butchered its people. And then it appears, this staggering onslaught was all but airbrushed out of our history. | | | | Cowboy | | Posted: Thu Jun 11, 2009 7:59 am Post subject: |

| THOUGHT FOR THE DAY! "Before the end of the year, an economic bloc of England, Russia, France and the U.S.A will be formed to bring the German and Italian economic systems to their knees." - Paul Dreyfus, "La Vie de Tanger" May 15, 1938. http://whatreallyhappened.com/ | | | | Diceros | | Posted: Thu Jun 11, 2009 3:27 pm Post subject: |
| The story of slavery is very, very long. There's also ample historical evidence of Crusaders, after their conquest , carrying off non-Christians ,(Jews + Muslims) to slave markets (brothels ) in Constantinople / Genoa and Marseilles , But, I think it is foolish to judge the past by the standards of the present/ by our current values. cheers. | | | | Diceros | | Posted: Thu Jun 11, 2009 3:31 pm Post subject: |
