U.S. Attacks Russia Through Client State Georgia

August 8, 2008

While U.S. media obsesses about John Edwards’ extramarital shenanigans

Paul Joseph Watson

Friday, August 8, 2008

Georgian forces, trained and equipped by the Pentagon and the U.S. government, killed 10 Russian peacekeepers early this morning in a provocation attack that has escalated into military conflict, but the subsequent corporate media coverage would have us believe that the U.S. and NATO-backed client state Georgia is a helpless victim, when in actual fact a far more nuanced geopolitical strategy is being played out.

Original reports early this morning detailed how [2] Georgian forces had killed 10 Russian peacekeepers and wounded 30 others, which was the provocation for Russian forces to begin military operations, but the fact that Georgian forces were responsible for starting the conflagration has been completely buried in subsequent media coverage.

“Georgia and the Pentagon cooperate closely,”[3] reports MSNBC, “Georgia has a 2,000-strong contingent supporting the U.S.-led coalition in Iraq, and Washington provides training and equipment to the Georgian military.”

The latest exercise, Immediate Response 2008, which took place last month, involved no less than one thousand U.S. troops working with Georgian troops in a war game scenario.

Moreover, the very “Rose Revolution” that brought the Harvard trained pro-US Georgian president Mikhail Saakashvilli to power in 2003 was wholly [4] aided and abetted by the Central Intelligence Agency.

Russian fury at U.S. support for Georgia and Georgia’s aspirations of becoming a NATO member have flared regularly in recent months, with tensions also rising following U.S. attempts to place missile defense shield technology in Poland and the Czech Republic, which most observers agree has nothing to do with Iran and is in fact aimed at countering Russian military superiority in the region.

In addition, the[5] pro-Israeli news source DebkaFile reports that Georgian infantry units were “aided by Israeli military advisors” in capturing the capital of breakaway South Ossetia, Tskhinvali earlier today.

DebkaFile elaborates on the true geopolitical significance behind today’s events.

DEBKAfile’s geopolitical experts note that on the surface level, the Russians are backing the separatists of S. Ossetia and neighboring Abkhazia as payback for the strengthening of American influence in tiny Georgia and its 4.5 million inhabitants. However, more immediately, the conflict has been sparked by the race for control over the pipelines carrying oil and gas out of the Caspian region.

The Russians may just bear with the pro-US Georgian president Mikhail Saakashvili’s ambition to bring his country into NATO. But they draw a heavy line against his plans and those of Western oil companies, including Israeli firms, to route the oil routes from Azerbaijan and the gas lines from Turkmenistan, which transit Georgia, through Turkey instead of hooking them up to Russian pipelines.

Jerusalem owns a strong interest in Caspian oil and gas pipelines reach the Turkish terminal port of Ceyhan, rather than the Russian network. Intense negotiations are afoot between Israel Turkey, Georgia, Turkmenistan and Azarbaijan for pipelines to reach Turkey and thence to Israel’s oil terminal at Ashkelon and on to its Red Sea port of Eilat. From there, supertankers can carry the gas and oil to the Far East through the Indian Ocean.

Former Treasury Secretary under Ronald Reagan, Paul Craig Roberts, told The Alex Jones Show today that the entire scenario smacked of a maneuver on behalf of the Neo-Con faction controlling the White House, led by Dick Cheney. Roberts said the date was precisely picked due to the distraction of the Olympics and Bush being out of the country.

Both Condoleezza Rice and John McCain have today demanded Russia withdraw its forces from Russia immediately.

Meanwhile, the U.S. media networks are seemingly more interested in the complete non-story of John Edwards having an affair, while a conflict that could have devastating and thunderous geopolitical consequences fizzes on the verge of explosion.

As of early Friday evening, Edwards’ extramarital shenanigans were dominating CNN and Fox News, while Drudge also afforded the story more prominence that the situation in Georgia, which was also deemed less important than the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.

One of our readers contributed the following, which explains in detail exactly what is unfolding.

Most folks on here can not or will not look up the history or facts for themselves …morons..
Those who dont learn from history are destined to repeat it..

In 1992, Georgia was forced to accept a ceasefire to avoid a large scale confrontation with Russia. The government of Georgia and South Ossetian separatists reached an agreement to avoid the use of force against one another, and Georgia pledged not to impose sanctions against South Ossetia.

A peacekeeping force of Ossetians, Russians and Georgians was established at the time. And late in 1992 the OSCE set up a mission in Georgia to monitor the peacekeeping operation.

From then, until mid-2004, South Ossetia was generally peaceful.

In June 2004, tensions began to rise as the Georgian authorities strengthened their efforts against smuggling in the region. Hostage takings, shootouts and occasional bombings left dozens dead and wounded.

A ceasefire deal was reached on August 13, but it has been repeatedly violated.

Tensions in the region soared in 2008 and outbreaks of violence became increasingly frequent in the border area.

Georgia said it was an internal affair as the breakaway republic had never been recognized internationally.

The Georgian side repeatedly insisted the conflict could be resolved without outside interference.

However, early on August 8 Georgia launched a massive military offensive to take control of the republic.

A quote from another Reuters

At an emergency session of the United Nations on Thursday night, Russia failed to push through a statement that would have called on both sides to stop fighting immediately.
Council diplomats said a phrase calling on all sides to “renounce the use of force” had been unacceptable to the Georgians, backed by the United States and the Europeans.

UK Times online:
Mr Saakashvili, a US-educated lawyer who succeeded Eduard Shevardnadze in 2004 and has since tried to align it more closely to the West, compared the Russian action with the invasion of Afghanistan in 1979 and appealed to the outside world to intervene.

“Russia is fighting a war with us in our own territory,” he told CNN as Russian armour rolled into South Ossetia.

“It’s not about Georgia anymore. It’s about America, its values: we are a freedom-loving nation that is right now under attack.

Georgia in US-financed arms race for war on Abkhazia, South Ossetia
By Jason Cooper Created 11 Nov 2007 - 6:47pm [0]Tskhinvali, the capital of South Ossetia, is seen as the top takeover-target of Georgia's military plansTSKHINVALI (Tiraspol Times) - Despite not being at war with anyone, for the year 2007 the military budget of Georgia is showing the highest growth rate of any country in the world, with much of it being financed openly and directly by its key military partner, the United States. As a result, fears run high in Tskhinvali these days.
The capital of the small Republic of South Ossetia is increasingly seen as the next target of Georgian military aggression, and many here worry that it is only a matter of time before enemy troops unleash an assault on the city. Some international analysts agree. Vicken Cheterian, a journalist and political analyst who works for the non-profit governance organization CIMERA, based in Geneva, says that "Georgia's military plans reveal its ambition to reclaim the territories of Abkhazia and South Ossetia it lost in the wars of the early 1990s."The journalist, who is a regular contributor to Le Monde Diplomatique, points out that since the "rose revolution" of 2003-04, Georgian military spending has effectively been increased by over forty times. The majority of Georgia's arms purchases are financed directly or indirectly from Washington. Salaries for Georgian soldiers have also repeatedly been paid for by American taxpayers. Vicken Cheterian, a journalist and political analysts who works for Geneva's Cimera group, warns that Georgia's 40-fold increase in military spending is targeted against Abkhazia and South Ossetia." - According to the official goal of joining NATO, Georgia needs to modernize its army, train its soldiers, and build facilities for them," he writes in an article entitled Georgia’s arms race. "But observers in Tbilisi point that out patterns of spending suggest that Georgia has other projects apart from its NATO ambitions."
U.S. money behind Georgian arms build-up
According to Cheterian, the Georgian defence ministry announced in early May 2007 that it will sharply increase its current defence budget, from 513 to 957 million lari ($304m to $567m). This escalation follows an already impressive rise in defense spending since the "Rose revolution." This means that since the arrival to power of Mikheil Saakashvili, defence spending has continued on an upward spiral. The arms build-up is financed by the United States, he writes in the article which was published by OpenDemocracy. The money started flowing in 2002 when an eighteen-month "train and equip" program with a total budget of $64 million was started to modernize four infantry battalions and one mechanized company. " - The army also received significant training assistance as well as equipment from the United States military," he notes. "Georgia also received valuable equipment, such as ten UH-1 transportation helicopters from the US government. The value of the US military cooperation with the Georgian armed forces in 2007 is estimated at $34 million. As a result, some 16,000 troops are now considered trained by the US military."Most of the military build-up is concentrated against Abkhazia and South Ossetia. A modern, NATO-compatible barracks has just been built in Senaki in western Georgia not far from Abkhazia, and another one is under construction near Gori, a half-hour driving distance from Tskhinvali, the capital of South Ossetia. According to the report, each of these bases will have the capacity to house a brigade, with a troop-strength of 3,000.
Peace in peril
Georgia's military plans have caused alarm among diplomats and others in the international community who prefer a peaceful coexistence of the various ethnic groups who inhabit the Caucasus region." - The fact that the two new barracks are close to the conflict-zones of Abkhazia and South Ossetia has led to concerns among both the de-facto governments of those two regions and the international community that seeks a peaceful resolution to these conflicts," explains Vicken Cheterian. He also writes that there has been a continuous decrease of Russia's military presence parallel to the US-Georgian military cooperation. " - The Russian military is continuing to empty its former Soviet base in Akhalkalaki, transporting equipment and ammunition into its base in Gumri, in northern Armenia. Akhalkalaki base is expected to be emptied by the end of the year, while the Russian base in Batumi the next year," he notes. "After this period the Russian presence will be limited to the CIS peacekeeping missions in South Ossetia and Abkhazia."" - Moscow is increasingly displeased to see the NATO and specifically US military presence becoming permanent in what once was part of its southern Soviet provinces."In what some see as a quid pro quo arrangement, Georgia now uses its military to assist the United States in unpopular wars. In return for this favor, the United States continues to oppose the right of Abkhazia and South Ossetia to independence." - The recent announcement in Tbilisi to increase Georgian military participation in Iraq from 850 to 2,000 comes at a time when most European nations have already started withdrawing their troops, and the Bush administration is under political pressure in Washington to come up with its own schedule to decrease troops," explains Cheterian.
He also points out that another 150 Georgian military serve in Kosovo. This is an area where NATO-led troops keep Serbia out, and where the United States State Department is actively pushing for the right of self-determination to override the territorial integrity of a metropolitan state, Serbia.See also:

South Ossetia fighting risks wider war

By MUSA SADULAYEV, Associated Press Writer

1 hour, 25 minutes ago Russia sent an armored column into the breakaway enclave of South Ossetia after Georgia, a staunch U.S. ally, launched an offensive to crush separatists. Georgia reported early Saturday that warplanes attacked three of its bases and some key oil facilities.Witnesses said hundreds of civilians have died in the fighting, which threatened to ignite a wider war between Georgia and Russia and escalate tensions between Moscow and Washington.Georgia said it was forced to launch the assault because of rebel attacks; the separatists alleged Georgia violated a cease-fire.The South Ossetian capital of Tskhinvali was reportedly devastated. Ossetia spokeswoman Irina Gagloyeva said the city came under prolonged fire during the night "but it was suppressed" by the armed forces, the Interfax news agency quoted her as saying Saturday."I saw bodies lying on the streets, around ruined buildings, in cars," said Lyudmila Ostayeva, 50, who had fled with her family to Dzhava, a village near the border with Russia. "It's impossible to count them now. There is hardly a single building left undamaged."The fighting broke out as much of the world's attention was focused on the start of the Olympic Games and many leaders, including Russia's Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and President Bush, were in Beijing. The timing suggested Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili may have been counting on surprise to fulfill his longtime pledge to wrest back control of South Ossetia — a key to his hold on power. The rebels seek to unite with North Ossetia, which is part of Russia.Saakashvili agreed the timing was not coincidental, but accused Russia of being the aggressor. "Most decision makers have gone for the holidays," he told CNN. "Brilliant moment to attack a small country."Seeking to prevent an all-out war, diplomats issued a flurry of statements calling on both sides to halt the fighting. The U.N. Security Council held two tense emergency sessions 12 hours apart with both sides using the forum to launch accusations. As the meeting recessed, officials promised a third council session Saturday.Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice urged Russia to halt aircraft and missile attacks and withdraw combat forces from Georgian territory. Rice said in a statement the United States wants Russia to respect Georgian sovereignty and agree to international mediation. The leader of South Ossetia's rebel government, Eduard Kokoity, said about 1,400 people were killed in the onslaught, the Interfax news agency reported. The toll could not be independently confirmed. As night fell, there were conflicting claims as to who held the battlefield advantage.Saakashvili said "Georgian military forces completely control all the territory of South Ossetia" except for a northern section adjacent to Russia. But Russian news agencies cited a Russian military official as saying heavy fighting was under way on the outskirts of the regional capital.Early Saturday, Interior Ministry spokesman Shota Utiashvili said the Vaziani military base on the outskirts of the Georgian capital was bombed by warplanes during the night and that bombs fell in the area of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline. He also said two other Georgian military bases were hit and that warplanes bombed the Black Sea port city of Poti, which has a sizable oil shipment facility.Utiashvili said there apparently were significant casualties and damage in the attacks, but that further details would not be known until the morning.Earlier, Georgia's Foreign Ministry accused Russian aircraft of bombing two military air bases, inflicting some casualties and destroying several military aircraft. Rustavi 2 television said four people were killed and five wounded at the Marneuli air base.Twelve Russian troops were killed and 30 wounded in the fighting, said Russian Ground Forces spokesman Col. Igor Konashenkov. Saakashvili said late Friday that about 30 Georgians had been killed "mainly members of the Georgian armed forces."It was unclear what might persuade either side to stop shooting. Both claim the battle started after the other side violated a cease-fire that had been declared just hours earlier after a week of sporadic clashes. The United States was sending in its top Caucasus envoy, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matthew Bryza, to try to end the bloodshed. It was the worst outbreak of hostilities since the province won de facto independence in a war against Georgia that ended in 1992. Russian troops went in as peacekeepers but Georgia alleges they now back the separatists. Russia, which has granted citizenship to most of the region's residents, appeared to lay much of the responsibility for ending the fighting on Washington. In a telephone conversation with Rice, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Georgia must be convinced to withdraw its forces, according to a ministry statement. Georgia, which borders the Black Sea between Turkey and Russia, was ruled by Moscow for most of the two centuries preceding the breakup of the Soviet Union. Georgia has angered Russia by seeking NATO membership — a bid Moscow regards as part of a Western effort to weaken its influence in the region. Saakashvili long has pledged to restore Tbilisi's rule over South Ossetia and another breakaway province, Abkhazia. Both regions have run their own affairs without international recognition since splitting from Georgia in the early 1990s and have built up ties with Moscow. Georgia has about 2,000 troops in Iraq, making it the third-largest contributor to coalition forces after the U.S. and Britain. But Saakashvili told CNN the troops would be called home Saturday in the face of the South Ossetia fighting. A senior U.S. defense official said Georgian authorities have asked the United States for help getting their troops out of Iraq. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the discussions have been private, said no formal decision has been made on whether to support the departure, but said it is likely the U.S. will do so. Also, Pentagon officials said Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has reached out to his counterparts in Russia and Georgia, but has not yet connected with them. Russia's Defense Ministry said it was sending in reinforcements for its troops in the province, and Russian state television and Georgian officials reported a convoy of tanks had crossed the border. The convoy was expected to reach the provincial capital, Tskhinvali, by evening, Channel One television said. Putin warned in the early stages of the conflict that the Georgian attack would draw retaliation and the Defense Ministry pledged to protect South Ossetians, most of whom have Russian citizenship. Chairing a session of his Security Council in the Kremlin, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev also vowed that Moscow will protect Russian citizens. "In accordance with the constitution and federal law, I, as president of Russia, am obliged to protect lives and dignity of Russian citizens wherever they are located," Medvedev said. "We won't allow the death of our compatriots go unpunished." On Friday, an AP reporter saw tanks and other heavy weapons concentrating on the Russian side of the border with South Ossetia — supporting the reports of an incursion. Some villagers were fleeing into Russia. The Georgian state minister for reintegration, Temur Yakobashvili, said Georgian forces had shot down four Russian combat planes over Georgian territory but gave no details. Russia's Defense Ministry denied an earlier Georgia report about one Russian plane downed and had no immediate comment on the latest claim. Yakobashvili said one Russian plane had dropped a bomb on the Vaziani military base near the Georgian capital, but no one was hurt. More than 1,000 U.S. Marines and soldiers were at the base last month to teach combat skills to Georgian troops. South Ossetia officials said Georgia attacked with aircraft, armor and heavy artillery. Georgian troops fired missiles at Tskhinvali, an official said, and many buildings were on fire. Georgia's president said Russian aircraft bombed several Georgian villages and other civilian facilities. A senior Russian diplomat in charge of the South Ossetian conflict, Yuri Popov, dismissed the Georgian claims of Russian bombings as misinformation, the RIA-Novosti news agency reported. The Georgian attack came just hours after Saakashvili announced a unilateral cease-fire in a television broadcast late Thursday in which he also urged South Ossetian separatist leaders to enter talks on resolving the conflict. Georgian officials later blamed South Ossetian separatists for thwarting the cease-fire by shelling Georgian villages in the area. ___ Associated Press writers Misha Dzhindzhikhashvili in Tbilisi, Vladimir Isachenkov in Moscow and John Heilprin at the United Nations contributed to this report.

How does Israel explain wanting war with Russia and China's closeness to Iran..and think there is nothing wrong with the picture?

What's Israel's real beef with Russia? Does Israel think they can create a 'schism' between China and Russia over some business deals? So what about Iran?
It would seem Israel's playing a very silly game..

Georgia: In 'state of war' over South Ossetia

By MUSA SADULAYEV, Associated Press Writer 1 hour, 27 minutes ago

Russia and small, U.S.-allied Georgia headed toward a wider war Saturday as Russian tanks rumbled into the contested province of South Ossetia and Russian aircraft bombed a Georgian town, escalating a conflict that already has left hundreds dead.Georgia's Foreign Ministry said the country was "in a state of war" and accused Russia of beginning a "massive military aggression." The Georgian parliament approved a state of martial law, mobilizing reservists and ordering government authorities to work round-the-clock.Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said that Moscow sent troops into South Ossetia to force Georgia into a cease-fire and prevent Georgia from retaking control of its breakaway region after it launched a major offensive there overnight Friday. In a meeting with refugees, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin characterized Georgia's actions as "complete genocide," according to his office's Web site. Putin also said Georgia had effectively lost the right to rule the breakaway province — an indication Moscow could be preparing to fulfill South Ossetians' wish to be absorbed into Russia. The risk of the conflict setting off a wider war also increased Saturday when Russian-supported separatists in another breakaway region, Abkhazia, also targeted Georgian troops by launching air and artillery strikes to drive them out.President Bush called for an end to the Russian bombings and an immediate halt to the violence."The attacks are occurring in regions of Georgia far from the zone of conflict in South Ossetia. They mark a dangerous escalation in the crisis," Bush said in a statement to reporters while attending the Olympic Games in Beijing.Georgia President Mikhail Saakashvili called it an "unprovoked brutal Russian invasion.""This is about annihilation of a democracy on their borders," Saakashvili told the British Broadcasting Corp. "We on our own cannot fight with Russia. We want immediate cease-fire, immediate cessation of hostilities, separation of Russia and Georgia and international mediation."Medvedev's office said Saturday evening that Russia had not received the Georgian cease-fire proposal.Georgia, a U.S. ally whose troops have been trained by American soldiers, launched the major offensive overnight Friday. Heavy rocket and artillery fire pounded the provincial capital, Tskhinvali, leaving much of the city in ruins. It was the worst outbreak of hostilities since South Ossetia won de facto independence in a war against Georgia that ended in 1992.Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters Saturday in Moscow that some 1,500 people had been killed in South Ossetia since Friday, with the death toll rising. The figures could not be independently confirmed. But Tskhinvali residents who survived the bombardment by hiding in basements and later fled the city estimated that hundreds of civilians had died. They said bodies were lying everywhere.Georgia, a country about the size of South Carolina that borders the Black Sea between Turkey and Russia, was ruled by Moscow for most of the two centuries preceding the breakup of the Soviet Union. Today, Russia has approximately 30 times more people than Georgia and 240 times the area. Both South Ossetia and Abkhazia have run their own affairs without international recognition since splitting from Georgia in the early 1990s and have built up ties with Moscow. Russia has granted its passports to most of their residents.Putin arrived late Saturday in the Russian city of Vladikavkaz to talk to South Ossetian refugees who have fled the fighting. He said there were at least 34,000 refugees."The actions of the Georgian powers in South Ossetia are, of course, a crime — first of all against their own people," Putin said. "The territorial integrity of Georgia has suffered a fatal blow." Russia also laid much of the responsibility for ending the fighting on Washington, which has trained Georgian troops. Washington, in turned, blamed Russia. "We have urged an immediate halt to the violence and a stand-down by all troops. We call for an end to the Russian bombings, and a return by the parties to the status quo," Bush said in the statement. White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe said Bush had spoken with both Medvedev and Saakashvili. But it was unclear what might persuade either side to stop shooting — both claim the other violated a cease-fire declared Thursday. Alexander Lomaia, secretary of Georgia's Security Council, estimated that Russia sent 2,500 troops into Georgia. The Russian military would not comment on the number of troops. By late Saturday, Russian military commanders claimed they had driven Georgian forces out of Tskhinvali, a claim that Saakashvili denied. Russia's ambassador to NATO Dmitry Rogozin said "98 percent of Tskhinvali" was in ruins. "Our troops have re-established control over the city," he said. Smoke rose from the city, and intermittent artillery shelling and sporadic gunfire could still be heard. Georgian forces knocked out about 40 Russian tanks around Tskhinvali, said Georgia's Deputy Interior Minister Eka Sguladze. "Our units are well-equipped with anti-tank rockets, and they thwarted a Russian tank attack," she told reporters. Georgia, meanwhile, accused Russia of bombing its air bases and the town of Gori, just outside South Ossetia. An Associated Press reporter who visited Gori shortly after the Russian airstrikes Saturday saw several apartment buildings in ruins, some still on fire, and scores of dead bodies and bloodied civilians. The elderly, women and children were among the victims. The Russian warplanes appeared to have been targeting a military base in Gori's outskirts that also was bombed. The Interior Ministry said Russian warplanes also bombed the Vaziani military base on the outskirts of the Georgian capital of Tbilisi and struck near the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline. The ministry said two other military bases were hit, and that Russian warplanes also bombed the Black Sea port city of Poti, which has a sizable oil shipment facility. Georgia said it has shot down 10 Russian planes, including four brought down Saturday, according to Lomaia. It also claimed to have captured two Russian pilots, who were shown on Georgian television. Russian Col. Gen. Anatoly Nogovitsyn, deputy chief of the General Staff, confirmed Saturday that two Russian planes had been shot down, but did not say where or when. Lavrov, the Russian foreign minister, said Georgia brought the airstrikes upon itself by bombing civilians and Russian peacekeepers. He warned that the small Caucasus country should expect more attacks. "Whatever side is used to bomb civilians and the positions of peacekeepers, this side is not safe and they should know this," Lavrov said. Russian military commanders said 15 peacekeepers have been killed and about 150 wounded in South Ossetia, accusing Georgian troops of killing and wounding Russian peacekeepers when they seized Russian checkpoints. The allegations couldn't be independently confirmed. In Abkhazia, the separatist government said it intended to push Georgian forces out of the Kodori Gorge. The northern part of the gorge is the only area of Abkhazia that has remained under Georgian government control. Lomaia confirmed that Georgian administrative buildings in the Kodori Gorge were bombed, but he blamed the attack on Russia. ___ Associated Press writers Misha Dzhindzhikhashvili in Tbilisi, Georgia; Douglas Birch on the Russian-Georgian border; George Abdaladze in Gori, Georgia; and Jim Heintz, Vladimir Isachenkov and Lynn Berry in Moscow contributed to this report.

Russia Orders ‘Destruction’ of US Naval Armada In Persian Gulf

By: Sorcha Faal, and as reported to her Western Subscribers (Traducción
al Español abajo)

Reports in the Kremlin today are stating that Prime Minister Putin has
ordered the Defence Ministry of the Russian Federation to put the
Volga-Urals Military District and Black Sea Fleet on ‘full war alert’ to
prepare for the defense of the Iranian Nation against what is being
termed as an ‘imminent attack’ being planned by the Western Powers.

As we had previously reported on in our August 8th report, “Kuwait Goes
On ‘War Alert’ As Massive US Armada Heads For Iran”, the fears of
Russian Military Analysts have been realized with the US backed puppet
state of Georgia launching an unprecedented and unprovoked attack upon
the Russian protected enclave of South Ossetia, and to which the latest
reports have put the death toll at over 1,500 citizens of Russia and
over 15 Russian Peacekeepers.

In a bid to force Russia from its planned defense of the Iranian peoples
by provoking war in the Caucasus, however, the West has severely
miscalculated as Putin has not only ordered the retaking of South
Ossetia from the Western backed Georgian forces, but has also ordered
the destruction of all oil pipelines going through Georgia to the West.

The first of these attacks is being reported today, and as we can read
as reported by the Reuters News Service:

“Russian fighter jets targeted the the major Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC)
oil pipeline which carries oil to the West from Asia but missed,
Georgia's Economic Development Minister Ekaterina Sharashidze said on
Saturday."This clearly shows that Russia has not just targeted Georgian
economic outlets but international economic outlets in Georgia," she
said at a news briefing.”

The West is, also, not alone in arousing the might of the Russia’s, as
the Israelis have sided with their Western backers against the Russian
people, and as we can read as reported by one of Israel’s intelligence
organs DEBKAfile:

“Jerusalem owns a strong interest in Caspian oil and gas pipelines reach
the Turkish terminal port of Ceyhan, rather than the Russian network.
Intense negotiations are afoot between Israel Turkey, Georgia,
Turkmenistan and Azarbaijan for pipelines to reach Turkey and thence to
Israel’s oil terminal at Ashkelon and on to its Red Sea port of Eilat.
From there, supertankers can carry the gas and oil to the Far East
through the Indian Ocean.

Aware of Moscow’s sensitivity on the oil question, Israel offered Russia
a stake in the project but was rejected.

Last year, the Georgian president commissioned from private Israeli
security firms several hundred military advisers, estimated at up to
1,000, to train the Georgian armed forces in commando, air, sea, armored
and artillery combat tactics. They also offer instruction on military
intelligence and security for the central regime. Tbilisi also purchased
weapons, intelligence and electronic warfare systems from Israel.

These advisers were undoubtedly deeply involved in the Georgian army’s
preparations to conquer the South Ossetian capital Friday.

In recent weeks, Moscow has repeatedly demanded that Jerusalem halt its
military assistance to Georgia, finally threatening a crisis in
bilateral relations. Israel responded by saying that the only assistance
rendered Tbilisi was “defensive.”

This has not gone down well in the Kremlin. Therefore, as the military
crisis intensifies in South Ossetia, Moscow may be expected to punish
Israel for its intervention.”

These reports continue by stating that the massive US backed Naval
Armada, said to be the largest assembled since World War II, heading
towards war with Iran will be met by both Russian and Iranian
counterattacks aimed at destroying these enemy forces prior to their
planned attack.

It is, also, interesting to note, that after unleashing the Israeli led
puppet Georgian military forces against unarmed Russian citizens and
lightly armed Russian peacekeepers, President Bush has said, “This
fighting must stop, and, “I am deeply concerned about the situation in
Georgia,” he said. “The United States takes this matter very seriously.”

But, not as seriously as he claims as he had just previously instructed
his Ambassador to the United Nations to veto Russia’s resolution before
the Security Council that stated, and as China’s Xinhua reports:

“The draft also called on "the parties to cease bloodshed without delay
and renounce the use of force." Diplomats said that during the
closed-door consultations, the council failed to reach an agreement on
the Russian text because some council members, including the United
States, opposed the part calling on the parties to "renounce the use of
force."

President Medvedev was so livid after President Bush’s refusal to commit
to peace that, these reports continue, he ordered the ‘immediate and
systematic’ destruction of Georgian Military Forces, ‘wherever they are
located in the World’.

Georgia’s President, Mikheil Saakashvili, responded to Medvedev’s moves
by declaring martial law in Georgia and ordering all Georgian troops
home from Iraq, where they had been stationed providing support to the
US in its war on the Muslim peoples of the World.

These latest moves by the Georgian dictator, however, are appearing too
late in this war to save his troubled Nation, and as we can read from
the latest battlefield updates:

“The war between Russia and Georgia expanded on Saturday, with fighting
spilling outside the Caucasus province of Ossetia, both sides moving
reinforcements into the region and Georgian President Mikheil
Saakhashvili declaring martial law in the country.

While the international community continued to exhort both sides to step
back from the brink, the United Nations Security Council remained unable
to forge a united response. The fiercest battles were in the South
Ossetian city of Tskhinvali, where street fighting and artillery
exchanges continued throughout the day and eyewitnesses reported city
blocks reduced to rubble.

Russian forces consisting of Spetsnaz special forces infantry, and
paratrooper infantry flown in from the Russian interior had captured
Tskhinvali by Saturday afternoon, Georgian officials said. Aleksander
Lomaia, Georgia's national security chief, in a telephone interview said
Georgian forces had pulled back from the town 'unilaterally.' Lomaia
estimated the Russian infantry assault force at 1,500 to 2,500 troopers.

Counts of civilian casualties varied widely, with Georgia estimating
between one and two dozen killed, and some 100 injured as of Friday
evening. Eduard Kokoity, South Ossetia's leader, claimed more than 1,600
civilians had died and implied thousands more had been injured.”

And, as Prime Minister Putin has just arrived in the War Region of South
Ossetia, the resolve of the Worlds peace loving Nations to stop the
expansion of the Western Powers though military might appears to have
met its most logical first major obstacle by the awakening of a very,
very angry Russian Bear from its long hibernation since the dissolution
of the Soviet Empire.

Subject: Iran Attack "Green Light"

Date: Saturday, August 9, 2008, 1:38 PM

Ron Paul Affirms: Iran Attack Plan Has ‘Green Light’ By Steve WatsonRep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.) has warned millions of radio listeners that the United States is heading into an illegal attack on Iran, stating his amazement at members of Congress who have openly voiced support for a criminal nuclear strike.

=E 2If we do (attack) it is going to be a disaster,” the congressman told the Alex Jones radio show. “I was astounded to see on one of the networks the other day that the debate was not are we going to attack, but are we going to attack before or after the election?” Paul continued.

Paul recently voiced concern over House Congressional Resolution 362 which he has dubbed a “virtual Iran war resolution.”

“If that comes up it is demanding that the president [put in place] an absolute blockade of the entire country of Iran, and punish any country or any business group around the world if they trade with Iran,” Paul told listeners.

Experts have predicted gas will rise to $6 per gallon if the resolution passes. Paul believes that may happen anyway, just by anticipation.

“The frightening thing is they say they are taking no options off the table, even nuclear first strike,” Paul said. Paul believes from talking with his contacts in and around Congress that a strike on Iran has already been green-lighted.

“That is my sense because the Democratic leaders in the House are proposing no resistance whatsoever, Paul said. “We saw this when a supplemental bill came up and the president asked for $107 billion for the war, the Democrat leadership gave them $162 bi llion.

“It is still totally bewildering to me when I see men and women in the Congress that I know and like doing this just to get along. Most of them will say ‘I agree with you on all you say but the Iranians are bad people and they might attack us some day. . . . I hear members of Congress saying if we could only nuke them.’”

Ron Paul also spoke in detail about his new Campaign For Liberty Group and his views on the upcoming election.

WAR ALERT!!!
by Edgar J. Steele

August 9, 2008

This is going to be quick and dirty today. No cute cartoons. No philosophizing. We haven't time for any of that today.

I believe we are on the verge of the outbreak of World War III. Right now.

If I'm wrong, then so be it. I'll apologize for being overreactive later. Too much hangs in the balance if I am right. Treat it as an exercise if you like. A practice for when the real thing happens, because you can be sure the real thing will happen ... and soon.

For those who follow my writings and know just how right I usually am, be advised that I consider this to be very likely in the very near term (within the next week or two), highly likely within the next month or two and dead certain within the next year or two. I am uncertain only about the timing, not the outcome. The outcome is worldwide war, of course, and the likely defeat of America.

There is a convergence of factors just now that, taken together, suggest something momentous in the offing. Do your own googling and research to pull up articles. Today, I am just going to rattle them off, rather than tie in URLs for your ease in reference.

Huge Naval Armada Steams for Persian Gulf

The largest US/EU naval armada assembled since the start of Gulf War I now is taking up station just outside and inside the Persian Gulf, with significant battle groups just coming off an extensive joint military exercise timed to end just now. America never will be more ready to take on Iran, or so it thinks.

The US has announced its intention to emplace a naval blockade of Iran. That, in itself, is an act of war under international law. Never mind that Iran has done nothing to deserve this. Neither Russia nor China, strategic trading partners of Iran's will take this lying down.

Russia Invades Georgia - Does this stymie Russia for a time?

Georgia, the ex-Soviet province, now is a member of NATO. We are bound to protect NATO members, don't forget. Georgia just attacked its own breakaway province of Ossetia, which has aligned itself with Mother Russia, despite Ossetia's being guaranteed independence since 1992. Russia has responded with a military incursion of its own that can be expected to include all of Georgia. Was this orchestrated at this strategic time to occupy and distract Russia from an Iranian invasion?

Russia is a superpower still, make no mistake, capable of fighting on several fronts. Russia has stated that an attack on Iran, due to Russia's own national interests, will be viewed as an attack on Russia. This is not complicated, except in the drug- and alcohol-addled mind of George W. Bush.

Just-Completed Israeli War Games Simulated Iran Invasion

Israel just completed a massive military war game exercise that simulated the full-on invasion of Iran. Israel never will be more ready to take on Iran.

Us Anti-Iran Rhetoric Just Ratcheted Up Several Notches

American traitor and main Jewish cheerleader for Israel, Senator Joe Lieberman, just called for the invasion of Iran, saying that its rhetoric constitutes a "war crime." Dick Cheney just amped up his own rhetoric and has gone on the circuit, plumping for an invasion of Iran. General US anti-Iran rhetoric has gone up significantly in the past few weeks and days.

Olympic Games Just Began - Does this stymie China for a time?

China, the perennial wild card, now is on center stage for the world during the coming two weeks' Olympic Games, with its hands tied. No matter what goes on elsewhere, China simply cannot afford either to move against Taiwan (widely expected during the next military over-extension by America) or pop up in defense of any country being savaged by the US or its minions.

Whatever happens in the next two weeks, rest assured that China then will have a free hand to do whatever it wants. China depends upon Iran for a goodly amount of oil imports. Do the math.

US Stock Market Suddenly Boosted When It Should Have Dropped Precipitously

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac both just announced multi-billion-dollar quarterly losses, along with record losses being reported by most corporations. Together with world events and the dollar's weakening, the foreclosure crisis, massive bailouts on every front and mounting unemployment, the stock market should be crashing. Inexplicably, suddenly US stocks are soaring. Go figure.

Manipulation, of course. More of what they've been doing since 1995, designed to delude American investors and the public in general. Move along. Nothing is happening here. Yeah, right. Well, plenty is happening here and this house of cards quite simply cannot stand much longer.

Precious Metals Hammered Unmercifully and Unaccountably

Oddly enough, though money is being created at a record rate, thereby diluting the purchasing power of the existing money supply, the dollar suddenly is soaring, having risen from the ashes now to stand tall at nearly 76. Just a week or two ago, the dollar was in danger of slipping beneath 70. Obviously, the dollar is being artificially manipulated by the government, largely at the expense of precious metals prices, which have been hammered down at record rates in the past few days, the dollar belies its inherent weakness. Again, this cannot long endure.

What to do? Buy physical silver and do it now - this is the last time you will see silver in the $15 range.

US Economy About to Crash and Burn

It daily becomes more obvious just how precarious is the American economy. The bad news can be papered over with market manipulation just so long, then the manipulation actually accelerates the decline. We are very near the tipping point, I believe. The catastrophic result, Depression II, now is baked into the cake. Nothing can stop it. Nothing. Traditionally, war is used to distract a population saddled with economic catastrophe, don't forget.

US Air Force Joins the Others with a Jew at the Head

The US Air Force's commanding general has just been replaced with a Jew. The army long has been in the hands of one Jewish general after another and the Marine Corp's top general was replaced with a Jew recently, too. I don't care just how anti-Semitic you might take my pointing this out as being. Facts are facts. Consider how obvious the fact is that our current Middle East warmongering is in support of Israeli (Jewish) interests. Now there is no chance whatsoever that American military units will act against Israel's interests.

Obama May be About to be Elected

I think the possibility of Obama being elected has the powers that be scared, in that they cannot be certain that he will dance to their tune. This accelerates the need to do something while Shabbats Goyim George W. Bush still occupies the White House.

Next, look for a US aircraft carrier to be sunk with all hands lost.

This is the classic ploy, just as in all past wars. Sunk by Israelis, most likely, but blamed on Iran to provide the pretext for a coordinated attack. Which is the oldest, most obsolete carrier now on station in the Gulf? Like all the obsolete iron left out to dry by Roosevelt in Pearl Harbor, America will lose a symbolic asset while the key will be the loss of life: about three or four thousand dead Americans is the way they think now, in order to get the American public on board in full outrage - the full complement of one of our carriers today.

Then - Martial Law and a National Draft

Expect some incident within America, possibly just as home-grown as was 9/11, to justify the imposition of martial law. Prepare your children for the prospect of a national draft.

What to Do?

Get out of the cities. If I were Iran, I would have prepositioned nuclear weapons throughout the US at strategic locations, most of which coincide with metropolitan areas. Keep in mind that Iranians are not Arabs - they are Aryan. They cannot be expected to roll over and react with nothing but rhetoric, as we have seen before, most notably in Iraq.

Stock up on food and water. It is too late to order from the dehydrated food suppliers, though I have just received an order from Alpine Aire, thanks to the good folks at http://www.homestylemercantile.com/ . Call them and see what they might be able to do for you in whatever time might be left. Go to your supermarket and stock up on canned and dried foods. Put as much away as your funds and storage space will allow. A year's worth is not out of the question.

Keep your vehicle gas tanks filled and fill up some spare 5-gallon containers with fuel, as well. Have your way out of the city planned in advance.

Though prices have risen dramatically and supplies are much curtailed, get the other white metal - lead - well stocked, along with several weapons for self defense.

Get ready for a possible viral pandemic, similar to the 1917 Spanish Flu - this means, be prepared to quarantine your family for weeks, if not months.

If, after all preparations noted above, you happen to have any money left at all, convert it into anything silver or gold. The dollar is toast.

How will things go for America? Badly. Reread Defensive Racism for my take on things, which so far are playing out just as I have foreseen them.

Good luck and God bless us all, every one. See you on the other side.

New America. An idea whose time has come.

Zionist US And Zionist Israel
Crap Another Diaper
By Karl Schwarz
8-9-8

The problem with the BushCo madmen is that they live in a delusion they can do anything to anyone at any time, anywhere. Take a few minutes to read this article because is it why there is a war going on RIGHT NOW in Georgia.

It is all about oil and pipelines and BushCo pipedreams, all dressed up as the fraudulent, phony, vile Global War on Terror hoax. However, the true level of deceit runs even deeper than that.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article4484849.ece

Well, BushCo terrorism might work in Iraq, it might work somewhat in Afghanistan; it might have worked some in the Caspian Basin area where terrorism was used to try to get control of oil and gas and pipeline right-of-way by terrorizing and killing innocent civilians with US blacks ops teams.

But such really stupid ideas are not going to work regarding Russia and China. Somehow the BushCo bullies can't quite wrap their evil little scheming minds around the fact the Russia and China are world Superpowers, and they both have massive vested interests in the Caspian area that run contrary to the machinations of the BushCo dummies.

Trust me, Russia and China could not care less about the idiot 'Grand Chessboard' delusion or the lunatic Global War on Terror oil and gas grab. That 'WAR' was over in 2003 or 2004. The US lost and continues to lose.

The precious BTC Pipeline does not run through South Ossetia, but it is only 55km from South Ossetia to the nearest point on that pipeline. So, it's time for another BushCo Zionist 'war'...this one to push Russia back and out of South Ossetia. Yeah, sure...right....Georgia, US and your owners in Israel and London...go right ahead and give it your best shot...and watch how BushCo dirty diapers continue piling up.

Israel has managed to create a Kosher dirty diaper on its own because they came in and trained Georgia to wage war on Russia to protect this pipeline.

Zionist Jews were key military advisors in the Georgian Army attack and penetration into South Ossetia. The Russian Bear wasn't impressed and has responded with massive force. That key penetration by Georgia into South Ossetia - with its Zionist Israel war advisors - was the killing of the 10 Russian peacekeepers.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2058797/posts?page=1

The Zionist Israelis were selling arms to Georgia until Russia objected. The Jews, of course, didn't care about Russia's warnings when there was money to be made, and stayed right in there feeding off fat Georgian (CIA?) contracts. This, of course, continued to anger the Bear which will not tolerate the killing of Russians.

I think in the coming months we can expect to see Russia showing the boys and girls in Tel Aviv (and London) exactly what Russia thinks of Zionist Israel.

I have learned a lot of German and Russian while in Europe, more Russian than German. Like everywhere, Russia has good, pious, non-Zionist Jews. It also is infested with its share of Zionist Jew thugs they want to get rid of...one way or another.

I learned what the Russian word is for those thug Zionist Jews. It is 'zhid'...which is far more intense and derogatory than the 'N' word used for blacks in the West.

The Bear has a long memory and will never forget how the Bolshevik Commie 'zhids' holocausted around 30 million Russian men, women and children during the Lenin and Stalin regime purges. Russians know a zhid when they see one and clearly looks at Zionist Israel as run by a bunch of zhid thugs...get used to it.

There is no love lost between Zionist Israel and Russia. Since the fall of Yelstin, and the breaking of the Zionist oligarch stranglehold on Russia, Zionists chiefs in the City of London and Tel Aviv have been scheming to recapture Russia at ANY cost. It is this very Zionist West scheme that killed the Russian soldiers in South Ossetia...an attack led by Zionist zhids as military advisors to Georgia.

There will be Hell to pay for Israel and the US before this is over.

This current Bush fiasco in Georgia is definitely a combined US-Georgia-Zionist Israel operation and Russia has responded to that in force.

Stay tuned,

Karl

Bush And His Zionist Pals -
Stupid Is As Stupid Does

By Karl Schwarz
8-9-8 http://www.rense.com/general82/pals.htm

I was wondering why Vladimir Putin was representing Russia at the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympic Games. Within minutes, the news broke that Russia had moved an armored division into South Ossetia and Russian jets were pounding targets in Georgia.
Oops. There goes another Bush Pipedream up in smoke.
Of course, the Western Zionist media reported only the US/Zionist/CIA and Georgia side of what happened. Russia did NOT attack, Russia responded to an attack on Russian peacekeepers that killed 10 and injured more. Russia has also moved to protect Russian citizens who live in South Ossetia.
America, if you want to avert a major war you need to turn off the TV, get on the telephone and rock DC to its stupid evil core.
Call your Congressman, call both Senators and make it clear to them that YOU, AMERICA, WILL NOT TOLERATE AN ATTACK ON IRAN OR ANY MORE SANCTIONS AGAINST IRAN. STAND DOWN...or get ready to pay the Zionist pipers, bigtime.
Zionist/BigOil/BushCo is desperate because it has accomplished NOTHING since 9-11 but pile up lies, debt, destroy and loot America, and commit mass genocide and war crimes.
By the stroke of a pen, Russia has taken over most of the entire Caspian Basin area's natural gas. Since I last reported on that - and Gazprom also cutting a major deal with Venezuela - Gazprom has now entered the Ireland market in force while BushCo is yet to acheive anything but one useless photo op after another, one lie after another, and one failure after another...militarily and diplomatically.
One of the reasons this new 'international' (oh, please) naval armada of FOUR US nuclear-powered carrier (floating coffin) strike forces is headed to the Persian Gulf area is supposedly a rotation of US carrier groups. The other reason is the BushCo/Big Oil/Zionists banksters intend to slap a naval embargo on Iran to try to knuckle them under to Zionist demands.
That is a MONUMENTALLY STUPID plan, so read on and I will explain why it is so.
Such an insane blunder will set the stage for a military confrontation between the US/UK and Russia/China.
Folks, that is Two Superpowers against One Superpower and a wannabe, has-been. The French contribution to that armada does not matter. Going to WAR without France is like going deer hunting without your accordion.
Do not email these sleazy morons in DC, they delete most on the spot. Using email to contact those whores is just another cheap trick to keep you thinking they give a rat's ass about what you and the American pubic thinks.
Intead - Call the bastards, send them faxes but do not waste precious time emailing those lying DC dirtbags.
Make your voice known LOUD AND CLEAR DO NOT ATTACK IRAN! DO NOT PUT UP WITH ANY ZIONIST JEW ISRAELI ATTACK ON IRAN!
Read on and you will understand why.
The world is at a very, VERY dangerous stage right now and the perpetrators are the US, UK and Israel. Iran, Russia and China have demonstrated a remarkable level of restraint...but that is now past. The Bear is fully-aroused and pissed. The Chinese have had it with Junior's vile insults and the Zionist efforts to threaten their vital oil and gas deals in Iran and the Caspian.
These people are not kidding; the US liars and gangsters are not going to get their way...on anything.
If you have been keeping up with the news out of the Caspian Basin area, Georgia attacked South Ossetia and killed 10 Russian peacekeepers. South Ossetia wishes to be part of Russia again, not part of Western/CIA/Zionist influenced Georgia. Many of the people in South Ossetia are Russian citizens and Russia has moved to protect them. And Russia is 100% morally-justified in doing so.
Current news reports as of noon Central Europe Time indicate that about 1,500 are dead in South Ossetia, some of them are Russian citizens who live there, not the Russian military forces that have been moved in.
Remember well, America, that Bush's Black, Gap-Toothed Poodle, Candy Rice, was recently in Georgia while Bush was at the G8 meetings. She pledged her support for Georgia and NATO membership...for a nation that is nowhere CLOSE to Europe.
BushCo is desperate to get a pipeline through Georgia to the Black Sea. That is one of the few routes they have out of the Caspian Basin's landlocked oil and gas deals.
Georgia attacked, killed 10 Russian peacekeepers and now several thousand residents of South Ossetia have been killed and wounded. The Russian response was swift and empathetic. The Russian Bear is ANGRY and this Idiot BushCo plan is not going to be tolerated any longer.
Russia moved immediately and put an armored division in South Ossetia and Russian jet fighters pounded targets in Georgia. Military operations continued into Saturday on this side of the world with Russian jets obliterating more targets in Georgia including an entire military base at Gori, Georgia.
The Georgia oil port of Poti has apparently also been destroyed by Russian jets.
http://www.beurs.nl/nieuws/artikel.php?id=268268&taal=US
Moscow is also sending in even more tanks for peace enforcement. All America heard was the handpicked Zionist President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, whining that the Big Bully Russia was attacking poor little Georgia with 'aggression.' They are NOT admitting it was the US and Georgia who started things.
Pay attention THE RUSSIAN BEAR IS MAD...AND IT CHARGED WHEN IT WAS ATTACKED. Russia did NOT start this crap - George W Bush, Zionists and Mikheil Saakashvili did.
As of 12:15pm Central Europe Time, the Kremlin has made an announcement that they have 'no territorial aims' regarding Georgia. They have moved to protect South Ossetia and Russian citizens who live there and Russia has made it clear that it means business.
It is MORE than blatantly obvious/odious that BushCo planned this to coincide with the Opening Ceremonies of China's 2008 Beijin Olympics. That way, Bush could be in Beijing and appear to have nothing to do with Georgia starting another 'Bush Dirty Diaper Op.' Trust me, folks, this has turned into another soiled Bush Diaper already, and Russia is not going to back up or back down. The BushCo perps are feeling for their first time what Russian military might looks like and feels like.
Putin, Medvedev and the Russian military have warned the EU and the US many, many times STOP pushing EU and NATO membership to our borders. No one in the EU, NATO, London or Washington DC bothered to listen or take the Russians seriously enough.
Just this morning while America slept, Russia has moved in more armor, more airstrikes into Georgia and the EU is panicking. This time Bush went too far, and even the UN is having fits trying to draft a letter that is acceptable to all parties asking for a cease fire.
When the USSR broke up, Russia withdrew, pay attention, withdrew 80 armored divisions from Europe and former CIS states. The US does not have 80 armored divisions ANYWHERE.
The Russian response to the lunatic Bush 'Defensive' Missile Shield is they are now putting deadly Russian missiles in place to take out Junior's skyrockets.
Where this has now passed the Stuck-on-Stupid phase - even by Bush Standards of Stupidity - is that the BushCo Zionists are STILL trying to scheme and plot and lie so they can justify an attack on IRAN.
The US recently announced that it may close the Strait of Hormuz...so Iran cannot export its oil, gas and petrochemicals. A blockade of Iran.
You can be absolutely certain that CHINA is not going to tolerate that. Iran is supplying it oil and liquefied natural gas under a $400 billion contract and Iran also supplies India, Indonesia, Malaysia and most of the Pacific Rim with its oil and LNG. Much of the energy needs of the EU, in fact, comes from Iran. I know for a fact that Austria gets 25% of its energy supplies from Iran, hence, it is not backing the BushCo/Zionist plan to attack Iran.
Many in the EU are going to bolt because much of the oil and natural gas to the EU comes from Iran.
Even Angela Merkel-Schmerkel is whining about someone in her government cutting an important natural gas deal with Iran. Not hard to understand why. Germany needs the natural gas but now Schmerkel has to explain herself to her Zionist Masters...a little tricky after she went to Israel and groveled before the Israeli Knesset parliament. Yeah, I can almost hear her now: "Germany supports Zionist desires to attack Iran and save the world from Iranian nukes. And, oh, by the way, Germany is so very sorry for the (Holohoax) Holocaust.'
The German people were livid at her groveling before the Knesset in Tel Aviv. Germany has been on its knees before Zionism since it lost the War.
Listen clearly - No One is going to sit still for a US naval blockade of Iran, NO ONE. Both Russia and China will respond and it will be with force.
Russia has just made it abundantly clear to Georgia what the price is for killing Russians under Lunatic Bush/Zionist Plans.
Russia can easily crush the entire country of Georgia, and will do just that if it does not cease and desist. They are showing the scenes on BBC out of London, RTR Planeta out of Moscow, ProSeiben 7 out of Germany and other television stations. Russia is striking back in force and they are increasing their ability by the hour to put more troops, tanks and jets into position to crush Georgia if that little Bush Ally wants to play hardball with the Russian Bear.
Where this Bush 'shits and giggles' game has now reached the WARNING SIGN is that there are many Russian contractors and Russian technicians at the Iranian Nuclear sites that Bush and Israel wish to bomb.
There is no way to avoid killing or injuring RUSSIANS at those sites in Zionist obsession to take over Iran and destroy it as they have done to IRAQ.
If anyone in America thinks Russia will not, cannot, defend its interests, let the US attack Iran and see how fast Russia and China ram reality up America's butt and down its throat.
Liars, lies and more damned lies - THAT is BushCo and its Zionist criminal co-conspirators in London and Tel Aviv.
UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown, John McCain and Barky Obama have all been in Israel within the past month speaking to the Zionist Knesset parliament, and they have EACH vowed the Official Lie regarding Iran. So did German Chancellor Schmerkel...and enraged the German citizens by her pathetic groveling.
As we have shown without a shadow of a doubt - Iran NEVER made the comment that Israel should be 'wiped off the map' with any form of force. That is a Western Zionist LIE used to start the next war. Ahmadinejad's comment was that REGIME CHANGE is needed in Tel Aviv.
<start insert>
As a closing example, the president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has been attributed as threatening 'poor little Israel' by stating, quote: "Israel must be wiped off the map."
Well, what did he mean by that? Nothing because the statement was intentionally mistranslated from Farsi to fan Zionist war propaganda against Iran. No one in Iran made such a statement - NO ONE - it's just another Zionist Tel Aviv-UK-US lie to try to start a war.
The full, actual VERBATIM, correct Ahmadinejad quote, translated directly to English from Farsi reads:
"The Imam said this regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time."
Now, read that again.
Do you get it now? Can you see the ENORMITY of the LIES you are being fed around the clock?
<end insert>
The Farsi word for 'map' is NOT in the statement ANYWHERE. The Farsi word for 'wiped" was NOT in the statement, either. There was no reference to 'WIPED OFF THE MAP' whatsoever in what was said. Get it?
It was not reported anywhere in sufficient detail in the Western Zionist Media what Putin said while meeting the Iranian Government in Tehran months ago. (And surviving yet another CIA/MOSSAD assassination plot).
Putin made it crystal clear that Russia will NOT tolerate ANY attack on Iran from ANY of the Caspian Basin nations, and that includes the new military bases that BushCo has put in those nations under 'no bid' contracts to its buddies.
The Caspian Basin nations of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan got the message loud and clear. Russia is next door, stand down and do not aid and abet the US/Zionist stupidity.
Putin also made it more than clear that 'ANY ATTACK ON IRAN WILL BE VIEWED AS AN ATTACK ON RUSSIAN INTERESTS.' Get it??
I do not care if you have to read that 10 times, get it into that idiot American Sheeple head Russia considers any attack on Iran as an attack on Russia.
Right there is where Americans need to pause at the edge of the abyss and consider whether they want to see the end of America.
That is exactly what is going on in Georgia right now. We can thank the Stupid is as Stupid Does President, George W Bush, for wrapping poor Georgia into yet another Bush Dirty Diaper. People are dying right now in Georgia and Mikheil Saakashvili secured permission from the Georgian Parliament at about 11am Central Europe Time to invoke Martial Law in Georgia.
That is a clear indication of one of two possible things. First, he wants the people off the street so they can focus on survival of Georgia. Secondly, he is bracing himself because Russia is about to roll right OVER Georgia with Russian tanks and air force, and put an end to the Bush idiot plan of taking a pipeline across Georgia.
Mikheil Saakashvili accused Russia of 'aggression against Georgia" ('arf-arf') but has yet failed to admit it was Georgia that killed the 10 Russian peacekeepers. That lunacy had to come from George W Bush and his Zionist 'strategists.'
The Zionist Media does not want Americans to know that. The MSM does not want Americans to know that if there is an attack on Iran, Americans are going to get to see what Russian Fury looks like, up close and personal. The Zionist MSM wants American Sheeple braying and focusing on the 'Official Lies' and not that Russia has made it abundantly clear that the utterly bogus Global War on Terror fraud is OVER.
The gloves are off, the brass knuckles are on, the Russian tanks are rolling and the skies are full of Russian jet fighters.
Here is what DC and Tel Aviv are NOT telling you,America.
Russia does not want Iran to have nuclear missiles. Russia is already making sure Iran is not using its 'legal' nuclear power program for nuclear weapons. That is, in part, WHY Russia has many technicians in Iran at the very facilities that the US, UK and Israel intend to attack. Russian contractors are also building their nuclear facilities, and providing their nuclear power generating technology.
Russia already has this entire matter under control with Iran and the liars in Washington, DC, the liars in London and Tel Aviv do NOT want you to know that.
Again, US and UK and Israel are lying to the world. Nothing remarkable about that...it's just business as usual for these snakes. That is all they do...lie. Americans need to wake up and smell the coffee. Or they will be smelling a huge wars and counting hundreds of thousands...or millions...of dead.
Russia has already made it damned clear: kill a Russian and we will kick your ass up between your shoulder blades. If Bush is not careful and prudent, he is going to be wearing his balls as earrings along with Gordie Brown, little Nicky Sarkozy, and numerous others.
This is not a game, America. BushCo, London and Tel Aviv are lying their asses off yet again, and Russia has made it damned clear that no more crap will be tolerated.
If the US DARES to throw up a naval blockade of Iran and shuts down the Straits, neither Russia nor China will put up with it for a second. Get it?
Now, unless you want to see the United States confronted in WAR with both Russia and China, get off your ass and CALL the bastards in DC, NOW.

United States holds little leverage over Russia in Georgia conflict

By Jonathan S. Landay | McClatchy Newspapers

WASHINGTON — Even as it accused Russia of using "disproportionate" force in the conflict over Georgia's rebel South Ossetia province, the United States on Saturday found itself with few diplomatic or military options to deter Moscow's ferocious air and ground assault.

In fact, most of the key cards, including the power to veto any United Nations Security Council resolution, were held by Russia, which appeared to be using the crisis to ram home to the United State and its allies that it will not accept further expansion of NATO. Both Georgia and the former Soviet republic of Ukraine are seeking to join the alliance.

The Russian invasion "sends a message to all of the countries in the former Soviet space that Russia is resurgent and is willing to flex it muscles," said David Phillips, an expert with the Atlantic Council.

"This is Russia's assertion of power," said retired Army Gen. Wesley Clark, a former top NATO commander.

President Bush, in Beijing for the Olympics, said U.S. officials were trying to arrange a cease-fire in contacts with Russian and Georgian officials. He urged Moscow to halt air strikes outside South Ossetia, the mountainous enclave that Georgian forces moved to seize Thursday from separatists backed by Moscow.

"Georgia is a sovereign nation, and its territorial integrity must be respected," Bush said. "We have urged an immediate halt to the violence and a stand-down by all troops. We call for an end to the Russian bombings.

"The attacks are occurring in regions of Georgia far from the zone of conflict. They mark a dangerous escalation of the conflict," said Bush.

Speaking in Washington in a conference call with reporters on condition of anonymity, a senior administration official said Russia's response to Georgia's move on South Ossetia "has been far disproportionate from whatever threat Russia was citing."

But U.S. calls for a truce, which were echoed by the European Union, appeared to have little impact.

State-run media quoted Prime Minister Vladimir Putin as defending Russia's intervention as "totally legitimate" and accusing Georgia of committing "genocide."

He said Georgia wanted to join NATO in order "to drag other nations and peoples into its bloody adventures."

Putin's comments reflect Russia's longstanding anger over NATO expansion, U.S. support for the admission of Georgia and Ukraine to the alliance, and the Bush administration's plan to build missile defense facilities in the Czech Republic and Poland.

Russia is also still fuming over NATO's intervention against Serbia during its 1999 crackdown on ethnic Albanian separatists in Kosovo, and U.S. and European recognition earlier this year of Kosovo's independence over the Kremlin's objections.

Envoys from the United States, EU and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, a regional conflict resolution organization, were being sent to Georgia as part of a diplomatic push to end the fighting.

But beyond diplomacy and high-level statements, there appeared little the United States and its allies could do to, such as extending NATO combat air patrols to Georgia as they were in 2002 to deter Russian interference in Lithuania.

"There are already Russian aircraft over Georgia, so the chances of direct engagement (between Russian and NATO aircraft) is very high," said Clark.

"If you are in Moscow and you are looking at the tools that the U.S., NATO and the EU have, what are they?" asked a former senior State Department official who requested anonymity to speak more freely. "Nobody is going to send troops, so you are going to get away with it."

Some experts worried that Russia would not halt its offensive until it drove Georgian troops out of South Ossetia and another Moscow-backed separatist enclave, Akkhazia, and forced the pro-U.S. government of President Mikhail Saakashvili out in favor of a pro-Moscow leadership.

Ivo Daalder of The Brookings Institution said Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice should "get off the phone and onto a plane and make it completely clear to Moscow that our relationship depends on what they do from here on out."

But Bush must walk a careful line with the Kremlin, whose cooperation the United States requires on a range of pressing issues.

Russia is involved in international efforts to resolve the Iranian nuclear crisis, and could use its U.N. Security Council veto to block further sanctions that the United States and its European partners want to slap on Tehran for rejecting the latest plan to encourage negotiations.

Moscow is also part of the six-nation talks on eliminating North Korea's nuclear weapons program.

Russia is a major supplier of natural gas to Europe — its top eight customers are all NATO members, according the U.S. Energy Department — and has already shown that it is prepared to reduce supplies over disagreements.

Russian news agencies report sunken Georgian ship (Associated Press)

Russian news agencies say the Defense Ministry is claiming to have sunk a Georgian missile boat that was trying to attack Russian navy ships in the Black Sea.

Russia's Defense Ministry refused to comment on the Sunday reports to The Associated Press and Georgian officials could not immediately be reached.

If confirmed, the incident could mark a serious escalation of the fighting between Russia and Georgia over the separatist Georgian province of South Ossetia.

"Georgian missile patrol boats today made two attempts to attack Russian military ships. The Russian ships opened fire in response and as a result, one of the Georgian ships carrying out the attack was sunk," the ITAR-Tass news agency quoted a ministry spokesman as saying.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.

TBILISI, Georgia (AP) — Georgia called a cease-fire and said its troops were retreating Sunday from the disputed province of South Ossetia in the face of Russia's far superior firepower. Russia said the soldiers were "not withdrawing but regrouping" and refused to recognize a truce.

International envoys headed in to try to end the fighting between Russia and its small U.S.-allied neighbor that erupted last week in the Russian-backed separatist region.

The announcement of a retreat came after Russia expanded its bombing blitz Sunday — targeting the area around the Georgian capital's international airport. Russia also deployed a naval squadron off another of Georgia's separatist regions, Abkhazia, and according to Georgia landed thousands of troops.

President Mikhail Saakashvili ordered a unilateral cease-fire, the Foreign Ministry said, and the country's security council head said troops had left South Ossetia. Russia, however, insisted Georgian soldiers remained around the regional capital, Tskhinvali, where the fighting has been the most brutal. Tskhinvali is located close to the border between the breakaway region and the rest of Georgia.

Georgia, whose troops have been trained by American soldiers, began an offensive to regain control over South Ossetia overnight Friday, launching heavy rocket and artillery fire and air strikes that pounded Tskhinvali.

In response, Russia launched overwhelming artillery shelling and air attacks on Georgian troops. On Sunday, Russian jets targeted an aircraft-making plant near the airport on the outskirts of Tbilisi, the capital of the former Soviet republic.

Thousands of civilians have fled South Ossetia — many seeking shelter in the Russian province of North Ossetia.

"The Georgians burned all of our homes," said one elderly woman, as she sat on a bench under a tree with three other white-haired survivors of the fighting.

She seemed confused by the conflict. "The Georgians say it is their land," she said. "Where is our land, then? We don't know."

The scope of Russia's military response has the Bush administration deeply worried.

"We have made it clear to the Russians that if the disproportionate and dangerous escalation on the Russian side continues, that this will have a significant long-term impact on U.S.-Russian relations," U.S. deputy national security adviser Jim Jeffrey told reporters.

The U.S. military began flying 2,000 Georgian troops home from Iraq after Georgia recalled them, even while calling for a truce.

"Georgia expresses its readiness to immediately start negotiations with the Russian Federation on a cease-fire and termination of hostilities," the Georgian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, adding that it had notified Russia's envoy to Tbilisi.

But Russia insisted Georgian troops were continuing their attacks.

Alexander Darchiev, Russia's charge d'affairs in Washington, said Georgian soldiers were "not withdrawing but regrouping, including heavy armor and increased attacks on Tskhinvali."

"Mass mobilization is still under way," he told CNN's "Late Edition."

The U.N. Security Council — where Russia has a veto — began talks Sunday for the fourth time in four days to try to resolve the situation.

Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said more than 2,000 people had been killed in South Ossetia since Friday, most of them Ossetians with Russian passports. The figures could not be independently confirmed.

The respected Russian radio station Ekho Moskvy reported that two journalists were killed by South Ossetian separatists, citing a correspondent of Russian Newsweek magazine.

Georgia borders the Black Sea between Turkey and Russia and was ruled by Moscow for most of the two centuries preceding the 1991 breakup of the Soviet Union. Both South Ossetia and Abkhazia have run their own affairs without international recognition since fighting to split from Georgia in the early 1990s.

Both separatist provinces have close ties with Moscow, while Georgia has deeply angered Russia by wanting to join NATO.

Georgia's Security Council chief Alexander Lomaia said the Georgian troops had to move out of South Ossetia because of heavy Russian shelling. "Russia further escalated its aggression overnight, using weapons on unprecedented scale," Lomaia said.

French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner called the hostilities in South Ossetia "massacres," hours before he and Finnish counterpart Alexander Stubb were scheduled to travel to Tbilisi for a meeting with Saakashvili.

Kouchner said he would deliver a "message of peace" to Georgia and Russia, and call on both countries "to stop the fighting immediately."

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, meeting Saturday with South Ossetia refugees who had fled across the border to the Russian city of Vladikavkaz, described Georgia's actions as "complete genocide." Putin also said Georgia had lost the right to rule the breakaway province — an indication Moscow could be ready to absorb the province.

President Bush has called for an end to the Russian bombings and an immediate halt to the fighting, accusing Russia of using the issue to bomb other regions in Georgia.

Russian jets raided several Georgian air bases and bombed the Black Sea port city of Poti, which has a sizable oil shipment facility. The Russian warplanes also struck near the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline which carries Caspian crude to the West.

Russian officials said they were targeting Georgian communications and lines of supply. But a Russian raid Saturday on Gori near South Ossetia, which apparently targeted a military base on the town's outskirts, also killed many civilians.

Tskhinvali residents who survived the Georgian bombardment overnight Friday by hiding in basements and later fled the city estimated that hundreds of civilians had died.

The Georgian government said Sunday that 6,000 Russian troops have rolled into South Ossetia from the neighboring Russian province of North Ossetia and 4,000 more landed in Abkhazia. The Russian military wouldn't comment on troop movements.

Russia also sent a naval squadron to blockade Georgia's Black Sea coast. Ukraine, where the ships were based, warned Russia in response that it has the right to bar the ships from coming back to port because of their mission.

Both Ukraine and Georgia have sought to free themselves of Russia's influence, and to integrate into the West and join NATO.

Georgia said it has shot down 10 Russian planes, but Russia acknowledged only two.

NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer said Russia violated Georgia's territorial integrity in South Ossetia and employed a "disproportionate use of force."

Adding to Georgia's woes, Russian-supported separatists in Abkhazia launched air and artillery strikes on Georgian troops to drive them out of a small part of the province they control.

Abkhazia's separatist government called out the army and reservists on Sunday and declared it would push Georgian forces out of the northern part of the Kodori Gorge, the only area of Abkhazia still under Georgian control.

Separatist Abkhazia forces also were concentrating on the border near Georgia's Zugdidi region.
