I expect you have all read the story as to how this ship hit some rocks and is now holed below the water line

Although a rescue operation has been mounted by both Australia and New Zealand I do not think we had any loss of life.

Boards of Inquiry , court martials are now being thought about.

Fair enough you accept command of a destroyer, you accept the responsiblity that goes with it.

I for one will reserve judgement until all facts are known. but I can honestly say that in as much I considered I had a bad day yesterday, I think Cammander R. Farrington had a worse one.

Hello Every one Good Evening,

Well she is still out there in the lee of the Lord Howe Island and L/C Michael Souter thinks the interim repairs will take another week to ten days, and then she can be moved.

The Admiralty have still to decide what to do with her, either permanent repairs or totally scrapping her.

We are still waiting for the Court of Inquiry to arrive on board
I do understand how ever that Commander R. Farrington had only just returned to her when the incident happened.

Good Evening Every one

The latest news is that the Nottingham will soon be leaving the island.

Apparently the Islanders have been very kind to the crew, and last night

a reception was held by the Navy to say thank you to every one,

Although so far I have not found this report in the newspapers.

A.T. this machine is playing up.
and I do not think it has logged me in

Hello Buttercup,

You seem to have managed to post under your username, so you must have logged-in. What errors are you seeing that lead you to believe there is a problem?

Good Evening A.T.

This machine has been playing up all evening.

and on the index page, my name did not appear, as being on line

but showed as a hidden guest.

I also came in via the internet and not straight from AOL.

so I signed myself to say that it was me and not a guest.

now I am coming in straight from AOL

That's a first I have to say - AOL working correctly whilst another ISP produces errors. It sounds like you managed to partially log-in, how else would the system know to mark your session as hidden? Strange.

Still, you are here now and I'm wondering why you have such a fascination with HMS Nottingham?

Hello A.T. Good Morning,

This is the third attempt to reply, if this machine plays up any more it will be replaced, I will not put up with it.

How I managed to partially log in, I have no idea. mine not to reason why.

Do you know I once got through to an american warship, serving at sea some where or the other, caused chaos that did.

Another time I was talking to the White house, they didn't seem very happy either.

A.T. I now have a spell check box, did you do that or have I done it.?

A.T. do you see what I mean.

this machine sent the above message all by it self, I was not touching any thing.

Yes the Nottingham has captured my attention hasn't she. why? That I cannot answer, she is a boat - I like boats. she sailed out of Pompey.

Another item that I liked the dolphins who protected the deep sea fisherman from a shark.

Did you enjoy your Apple Pie and your wine ? with perhaps a decent cheese board to follow. mmmmm.

A.T. I am going to send this whilst the going is good.

As I have to be up in about 5 hours time, some how it doesn't seem worth going to bed, so I shall catch up on some reading.

Till later
