Congressional travel - Power Trips to Israel.

The American Israel Education Foundation (AIEF) spent more than $950,000 on congressional travel from January 2000 through mid-2005, virtually all of it on trips to Israel.

The foundation, created in 1988, considers itself a "supporting organization" of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), a Washington-based lobbying group. On its Web site, AIPAC says it has "100,000 members across all 50 states who are at the forefront of the most vexing issues facing Israel today."
