| I should clarify that shouldnt I? No one can say if attacks would continue, I just know something has to be done to bring this to an end. By end I dont mean either side exterminating the other. But if attacks were to continue, the quite large support the Palestinians now have will be in danger of dissapearing overnight. I really think this would be the signal to the ending of the PLO;s hold over other more sensible Palestinians, they do exist they cannot come forweard under present conditions and not just becuase Appy Arry would see them off, the Palestinian people would most probably look at them as traitors under present circumstances. Under the circumsances you propose then there is no need for the PLO, they would be history. This does not address Hamas though, but they they will be shown up for what they are and what would they be fighting for, what would the cause be for the likes of Hamas. If they continued under those circumstances then there would be no ambiguity on anyones part. Then maybe Israel and its neighbours could get on with the water problem which is a problem you must all face out there and learn to help each other with this resource. Jordan, Egypt and many of the Gulf states and Turkey have good relations if not critical at times but none the less, peaceful co existance, what makes us think Palestine as a nation would not have similar people willing to comporomise once they had a chance to do so. Im afraid Isreal is the big boy here, only Isreal can move things forward. Palestinians have no choice but to support appy arry an his minions, its all they have, they cannot see any replacements getting anythihng from Isreael, rightly or wrongly, they will keep arry or his cohorts in charge until there is some change so were in a circle, which only Isreal can break....Military? Surely Isreal doesnt think this can work, is has not worked and will not work, some will say yes but Isreal if it wanted to could wipe them out for good, and end it, Im sure they can, but have we not learned anything, especially Isreal? The whole of Arabia would have to be wiped out in that case, and it just is not going to happen. Israel is more and more reviled lately, that much is clear to you and not from just this board, you must see it worldwide. The people Isreal is losing are in fact its previous supporters, I have no problem in stating I had a great deal of respect for Israel for most of my life, but not now, there has been a sea change that only Isreal is big enough to do anything about. Or it can carry on with present policies of settlements etc. And no sight or hope of any change and the suicide bombers will be on your streets and killing your people for the rest of your and mine lifetimes, and Palestinans will continue to die too. Isreal has lost the moral high ground and I just cannot believe that it has done so in such a short time. Is it too late to grab it back? | | | | Guest-400c | | | | | ©2002-2009 WarWithoutEnd.co.uk |
