| Date: 10/1/02 4:13:59 PM Pacific Daylight Time From: ***To: *** Ms Rice's comments at bottom of this are proof at least to me that she is in the wrong positon in your govt. She doesnt seem to know much about other country's? Britain doesnt do big marches in the hundreds of thousands, two marches in the last two weeks have hit London with the biggest crowds the country has seen on such demos. Brits stay at home, watch tv, go to the pub and fix the worlds problems, I was on that march Saturday, and the amount of people on it that had never demonstrated in about anything in their life was surpising. It hit Tony even if Ms.Rice doesnt understand the Brits, Tony does. Labour party conference yesterday gave him support on action against Iraq only if UN sanctioned. The motion for debate on should we attack Iraq even without UN authorisation was dropped from the days business by Tonys national executive. It was obvious he would have been massively defeated by his own party on that one, and even in the debate, a speaker pointed out on a poiint of order that only Pro Attack Iraq members were being called to speak. Only then were a few antis called to speak. Tony does know the numbers on Saturday count, Ms. Rice needs to be sent on a foreign affairs course of some sort, Id gladly give to any fund that will pay for her education on foreign country's and their peoples and on how NOT to insult them. Be aware her comments are noted not just by the marches but by the 70 percent of Brits who will not tollerate any unilateral actions.
