The Israeli butcher, Ariel Sharon, is using the old Goebbels nazi-propaganda salami technique as converted to his military action. His ongoing plan is to take a tiny slice at a time, just enough not to totally discomfit his critics, and eventually he will have everything sliced up, even though bringing it about all at once would have resulted in a mild US firestorm of approbation.
It began when Sharon was elected prime minister, and then had his jackboots assault an Islamic holy place, which raised a minor amount of criticism from the outside world.
Then came another series of actions designed to trample
on Palestinian rights, establishing travel restrictions, and checkpoints at strategic spots, all aimed at disrupting
passage for West Bank workers, to starve them out.
To the US, and the west in general, this still was not enough for a barrage of US criticism. Perish the thought!
When the provocations became too great, the Palestinians
began an Intifada featuring stone-throwing youths who came under fire from IDF "rubber" bullets. These rubber encased steel bullets were enough to knock out an eye, or break a limb.
Little was said. Hard upon the rubber bullet usage came the real bullet use,killing a few Palestinians at a time. To combat this Israeli carnage, some suicide bombers began attacks of retaliation, blowing up themselves and Israelis.
Of course the Butcher blamed Arafat, even though there was no proof that Arafat had any hand in the bombing.
The US was still relatively silent, although a few pious platitudes were murmured. Ultimately, the helicopter gunships, tanks, and attack aircraft, made in the US and given free to Israel, began machine gun and rocket attacks on Palestinian "targets"that were civilian men, women, and children, businesses,police stations, with Palestinian homes, olive groves, and manufacturing buildings being demolished.
The Israeli rationale for these activitiers was the tired old line that they were bomb factories.
Little was heard in the US. The facts were being covered up in the same manner that the US media and congress covered up the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty where the Israelis killed 34 American sailors
and wounded over 150.***
Arafat was confined to his office by the Israeli tank forces,but still was blamed for every incident of Palestinian retaliation.
Because Israeli pirates on the high seas illegitimately stopped, and appropriated, arms going to the Palestinians, there was no way for them to fight Israel except througb suicide bombings and small arms fire, with a rocket or two fired on rare occasion. In a relentless slicing action, Sharon implemented his plan to eliminate the Palestinian state by taking over sections of it and attacking civilians in refugee camps, killing and maiming as he did so outrageously and ruthlessly in Sabra and Shatilla.
The US had become so accostumed to the Butcher's activities by this time that a ho-hum attitude had taken over the state department, but they keep sending Israel our treasure.
What will the Butcher do next? If he is not stopped now,there will be no Palestine, no Palestinians - except as slaves - and Sharon's dream of a greater Israel will be realized.
If the US and the world allows this shameful event to happen, Sharon will be licking his nuclear chops and begin looking for domination over the other Arab lands he feels are part of Eretz Israel.
In the mean time, look for an Israeli attempt to carry out, and justify, the murder of Yasser Arafat.
Do the US leaders, and other leaders in the world, have the intestinal fortitude to stop this mad man?
Even though his defenders will say this paper is "anti-Jewish," the usual false charge, is primarily anti-Sharon and his cronies.
